Can we talk about how oblivious the MC is

Acts 1-3 has the Protagnonist reacting to everything, from Sayori becoming depressed to her commiting suicide. Acts 4 and onwards just has him has him reuse old dialog and maybe some new ones, but for the most part its you who is reacting the the horror elements.

The MC is definitely missing a bunch of braincells (I mean come on, your best friend tells you that she's got terrible depression and heavily implies she wants to die, but you leave her on her own and also don't go check on her first thing the next day) but I think the bit with Yuri's death is a part of Monika destroying everything in the code. And the MC is a part of the code, because he has his own coded and default responses, so I think it's the character just breaking and not being able to function like when the game broke when Sayori died. So it leaves you alone to react and think about what's in front of you.

Monika should of took more classes in coding instead of playing piano, that way she could of just programmed the MC to smash her, but whateva's, this code works too.

Well when it comes to Sayori, he sure is a dunce. It takes him 18 years to notice that she's cute, and she's the girl next door! Even if he insists on not going out with her, he seems oblivious to how close they really are. Come on man, you're living the animu dream! And then once she starts showing signs of depression, he decides to try and hug it away. I mean, really? After that fails, wouldn't you at least feel the need to tell someone, like her family and/or guidance counselor? Hindsight is 20/20, but seriously, you should do something if your new waifu/lifelong bff is in trouble. At least he admits that he's basically out of all the girls' league.

Yuri was never meant to act like that.
The modifications to Yuri's code =/= changes to the MC Code.
So yes they stabbed themselves but the Main Character cannot react as they have no reaction.
Which may also mean that Sayori's death could have been scripted if the game didn't get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by #JustMonika.
