i don't know if it's totally related but who knows
im convinced this is probably just a coincidence tho. idk, maybe i'll look more into it next time hahaha.
Yuri does mention in Act II that she wants to sit on the floor when reading the book, saying that, "I just have back pain fairly regularly, so I do my best to manage it." I did some quick online research and yes, rheumatoid arthritis can affect the spine. So it's possible Yuri might have arthritis in the back.
Holy ♥♥♥♥♥ ! That's a lot XD
It's still a great finding if what you're saying is true.
Care to post the sauce for us?
Mibulls - ??????
Sailcloth - canvas(-like) material used for sails or durable waterproof clothes
Blindsight - the ability to respond to visual stimuli without perceiving them; occurs after certain types of brain damage
Lifeline - a rope for life-saving, typically thrown to rescue or secure sailors
- signals for divers to send to the surface
- what someone depends on to get out of a difficult situation (this might be what Natsuki is talking about)
- a line on your palm, used in fortune telling as the longevity of your life
Anon - (British) rare archaic exclamation, typically saying, "What did you say" or "In a moment"
- (dialectal variant of anon) soon
Rectipetality - the tendency of growing (plant organs?) in a straight line
Offered - presented (in many ways, including wanting to do a favor, selling or providing something, sacrificing for a deity, showing readiness for violence or resistance, and giving an opportunity for an enemy to battle; unclear which one Natsuki is talking about)
Scleromalacia - degenerative thinning of outer eyeball covering; seen in people with rheumatoid arthritis
Neighed - made a high-pitched horse sound
Catholicate - the responsibilities of an Orthodox bishop
I still have no idea what the sentence is supposed to mean, most likely because the word "mibulls" does not exist anywhere but in DDLC.
However, it could be esperanto considering the eye thing, but doesn't Natsuki's chr file contain an image of someone with white eyes? That would be heavy Sceleromalacia. This would leave one with only the "blindsight" of their third eye perhaps? Catholicate refers to an political entity of catholicos (eastern orthodox Christianity similar to a parish or county), Eastern Orthodox is extremely dominant in Slavic countries, where Markov would originate. The portrait of Markov is also supopsedly about human experiments escaping from a religious prison but also create a sitution of inabilty to trust who is and isn't crazy (Yuri gives two different descriptions for the book)... Catholicate would also be "the realm of catholico" Catholico's literal Latin translation is "from the top down" or "everything" basically, "the universe". Catholico was originally a Roman financial office apaprently. The Catholicate in that instance would mean the purview of their duty as that job.
anan is also a tribe of israel, a israelite who sealed the covenant, a japanese women's magaizne, an it would appear a somewhat common name in Japan as it's both a town and surname.
To me, it seems like most of the "easter eggs" in the game are referring to the next game he's making and libitina, who is also a Roman goddess of death and funerals. I think investigating the literal latin angles of the words could lead somewhere. Sceleromalacia would be "hard sickeness" or "hard softness" . Its literal meaning is an oxymoron. Like blindsight?
Neigh as a noun only has meaning as a horse's cry, but there is an obsolete (as in so out of use it isn't even used to feign being archaic) definition as a verb.
Verb
neigh (third-person singular simple present neighs, present participle neighing, simple past and past participle neighed)
(of a horse) to make its cry
to make a sound similar to a horse's cry
(obsolete) To scoff or sneer. <<<<
The universe would certainly be sneering or scoffing at having offered or been offered sceleromalacia
I also remember a weird sentence at the begining of the game that reminded me of plays with sentences using the same word as different parts of speech or misinterpretation of part. I don't remember exactly what it was as it seemed inconsequential at the time, but it reminded me of how "buffalo" repeated several times is still a valid sentence because it is a verb, noun, and adverb.
-Markov is the person who founded the religious camp that turned into a human experiment prison.
-Ms. Libitina (her LAST name is Libitina) is the girl with the white eyes and white hair that you see if you change natsuki.chr into natsuki.jpg. I think she went blind as a result of the experiments performed on her in the camp. Her health was getting worse and worse, and the experimenters were warned not to continue.
-I think Portrait of Markov is about people escaping from the camp/prison and then wanting to go back and save Ms. Libitina. But their blood lust gets in the way and people end up getting murdered here and there. At some point, the people who escaped start to feel hopeless because they can't close their Third Eyes and stop the occasional blood lust that leads to them killing people.
-The founder of the camp was an Orthodox Christian named Markov who made some kind of discovery about the Third Eye possibility in humans, and maybe Markov wanted to use this for good, but someone else killed Markov and turned the camp into a human experiment prison to help people unleash their Third Eye.
-Ms. Libitina was only three years old when they began experimenting on her (T_T) so I think she was born in the camp. Maybe she's the daughter of one of the founders. Maybe she's Markov's daughter. She's the most important test subject. She was not always blind. Maybe her hair wasn't always white, either.
-I interpret "neighed catholicate" as "scoffed at the idea of someone being a Catholic" because "real" Christians wouldn't torture young girls in human experiment prisons, but the experiementers still think they're doing God's work. (Note: I'm agnostic, and I know that lots of religious people have done horrible things in the past and still do horrible things in the present. I don't think religion makes you a better person unless you use it to motivate yourself to do good things, which many people do.)
-I think the "Life Threat Elimination Test" on the Libitina website means that she had to kill someone. Maybe she had to kill the doctor who was biased towards her. Or maybe the doctor who was biased towards her was killed by other members of the personnel.
Btw, any good summary to read what's all that Libitina and Third Eye things about?
True.
