[SPOILERS] NATSUKI WAS THE VICTIM, AND HERE'S WHY

You can argue that every character in this game is a victim. Conversely, you can argue that there were no victims because it's just a game, right? (RIGHT????) But I need to get this off my chest. I believe Natsuki was the main victim of the story. Here's why:

-Depending on how the player chooses to play the game, every character can get a love confession from the player, EXCEPT FOR NATSUKI. You can agree to go out with Yuri or Monika, and even confess your love to Sayori. But you can't give Natsuki that kind of affection. Monika says at the end that all of the girls fell in love with you, so that includes Natsuki. She never got to hear it back.

-Natsuki doesn't die, she gets DELETED. Even though Monika did mess with Sayori and Yuri's feelings, it's suggested that she didn't actually make them commit suicide. (I feel sick typing this I swear im not an awful person) It's clear that getting deleted hurts, as evident when the player deletes Monika. In the game, Natsuki runs in, sees Yuri, gets sick and runs out, and shortly later just VANISHES FROM EXISTENCE while in the school building.

-And the obvious one, she lives in a house with an abusive father who doesn't feed her properly so she ends up malnourished. That's sick.

-Not really a reason that she's the victim, but she does really care for the player. Her sharp words do have a certain softness to them sometimes. But the player never gets to show her very much affection. She got cheated.

In the end, it is just a game but Natsuki is so underappreciated. Natsuki = best girl. Waifu forever.

ok so I found this out yesterday that Natsuki can die. She can snap her own neck after a certan criteria is met. although I dont think she stays dead she does die.

Natsuki can't be the victim because she's not real, even in universe it is acknowledged that the world they "inhabit" is just a game and that the characters are not sentient outside of Monika, and Sayori temporarily.
By definition Natsuki can't be a victim anymore than if I drew a picture of her and then ripped it in two. Functionally identical.

Monika however is one of the most messed up and tragic victims I've ever seen in any fictional narrative. What she goes through is absolutely existentially horrible, and nothing she does is actually malevolent or even bad in any way. What she did was also functionally identical to ripping up a piece of paper.

Monika is in canon the only sentient being in a universe of fake mockeries. That realization must be absolutely mind breaking. But to add insult to injury the gods have mocked her by putting her in a game where she can view the existence of another sentient being from a distance, and yet be the only person in her universe who is not allowed to be with him. After trying her best to screw fate and god this sentient being gets unceremoniously deleted for being evil by that one other sentient being in the universe. It is beyond unfair.

The only victim here is Monika....
Just Monika.
