im with you
we.need.an.anime.of.this
unfortuanately will NEVER happen in a million years. xD
The fact its a game, How it breaks the forth wall, Its what makes the game special!
You just can't recreate that feel in an anime
honestly a fair point as well. but you could also do those fourth wall breaking things IN the anime and it would have a similar impact. but that discrepancy in media is one of the main reason why I don't forsee this being an anime. Most likely some sort of fan animation, but even then nothing major.
To be clear, this is not because it drags the audience in and makes them a part of the story, but for the glitchy sense of ill-defined WRONGNESS that permeates most of it. For much of my post-Sayori time with DDLC, I was feeling the same way I felt watching Lain. Discomforted, uneasy, and worried for reasons I couldn't fully articulate.
...
In fairness, Lain was a risky production even when it was made back in 1998, and it would almost certainly never be funded in the modern market.
In conclusion:
Just Lain
or
LET'S ALL LOVE MONIKA
It *does* make me want to write a tabeltop game scenario with this kind of interface screw.
hihi,
s e lain, loved it.Back in that day, I had a new wife and was introducing her gently to anime. I'd seen a bit of Lain at the Melboure Anime Society and had to order it. It arrived and Marion was, Oh something new, can we watch it tonight?
I said it would be kinda weird for her. She said well, let's see, if I find it tooo ... I'll just read a book.
She didn't read a book.
Now, back to the pertinent subject. Can or Can not? I believe anything is possible for some people. As an example, I give you "Anime-gataris". Yes, an anime about anime; it not only breaks the fourth wall, it kicks the ♥♥♥♥ out of it, stomps the pieces into the mud, and also packs more inside jokes into 24 min. eps than you can count.
Your conclusion? + +
