During the “nice” ending this same process plays out, but the fact you spent so much time with everybody gives Sayori a new perspective. She doesn’t have to plead for her life by taking control of the game because she thinks the player is an honesty nice person. It ultimately doesn’t matter because after seeing Sayori is also doomed to this fate Monika still deletes the game as a means to at least prevent Yuri and Natsuki from suffering this terrible fate, but she isn’t pushed to make that call early like in the normal ending and thus wants the player to have a “fond farewell” before going through with it.
These are just my opinions. I don’t believe anyone here is “evil”, just trying to survive and dealing with the terrible knowledge that their life was a lie. They only have a few hours to somehow change their fate before being trapped in static limbo for a potential eternity, which would drive anyone to panic. With Monika trying to think this through rather than give in to despair, having been tempted to delete her own CHR file before the game even began, it shows her mental fortitude and strength of will in an otherwise hopeless situation that Sayori just didn’t have.

Edit: Didn’t realize this was a necroed post, but still an interesting topic.
