I remember MBH's LP of the game, and while he was recording every second, it didn't trigger Monika's trick.
You have to be streaming, I think.
The funny thing is that the game only checks for the executable's name, which means you can take literally any program, rename it to "obs32.exe", then launch it before you launch the game, and it will trick the game into thinking you're recording, thus triggering Monika's message.
I have actually tested this just now. I copied notepad.exe to my desktop, renamed it to obs32.exe, launched the fake obs32.exe, then launched the game which was at the beginning of "just Monika phase", and it worked!
Bear in mind, that her recording-related dialogue is triggered at the end of her post-poem speech! If you have already shared poems with each other and you've entered the endless dialogue loop, you've missed your chance to see Monika's recording comment!
