Alternate opening messages
I’ve gotten a different opening message besides the standard warning message, it was something about sacrificing kids or something similar I wasn’t exactly expecting it so I wasn’t look at my screen when it flashed

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, that is one of the rare cool things that can happen upon launch.
Here is a full list of possible alternate opening messages:

"You are my sunshine, My only sunshine",
"I missed you.",
"Play with me",
"It's just a game, mostly.",
"This game is not suitable for children or those who are easily disturbed?",
"sdfasdklfgsdfgsgoinrfoenlvbd",
"null",
"I have granted kids to hell",
"PM died for this.",
"It was only partially your fault.",
"This game is not suitable for children or those who are easily dismembered.",
"Don't forget to backup Monika's character file."

"This game is not suitable for children or those who are easily dismembered"

Ehrm, I consider myself and pretty much every person out there easily dismembered based on the tool thats used. O____o

Fun fact regarding the "sacrificing kids" (as you put it) one: It's a reference to a song from the game WarioWare: Touched, where if sped up in the in-game player, the lyrics supposedly sound like "I have granted kids to Hell".

It was something of a meme back in the day.

I just got "I have granted kids to Hell"
I've gotten the "Don't forget to backup Monika's Character file " one and it freaked me the hell out. I knew there was the easily dismembered one but I never knew about the other ones.
