(SPOILERS) Game won't load now

So, I'm on the second arc, and I made it to where Monika has deleted all of the characters and is now staring at me and talking to me in a classroom. I had to stop playing for a bit and closed the game. I now cannot load the game. Steam will say that it's running, and then it stops after two seconds. Is there any way to salvage this now? Or do I have to completely reinstall the game now?

Are you receiving any error messages? Also if the process is running, close it in task manager and then try running it again.

Getting no error messages. Process also isn't running in task manager. When I try to load it, DDLC shows up for a second and disappears.

Huh. That's...really strange.

Did you do anything with the files, or anything else?

I would try restarting your PC and seeing if that helps, since I can't think of another reason why this would be happening.

I haven't touched any of the files. I tried restarting steam and then restarting my setup. Didn't work both times.

Hm. Well, one more suggestion: Try the "verify game files" option when you right click on the game in Steam.

After that, if the game gives you a prompt, select, "Continue where I left off".

If that doesn't work...uh, maybe someone else will have more ideas!

So, I went to the "verify game files" option, and it said that 110 files were acquitted (something like that). Clicked on the option again, said that all game files were verified. Still didn't load. Trying restarting setup and didn't load. Thanks for your help though! Hopefully someone does have more ideas 8ㅁ8

Well, try reinstalling, and you may get the choice to restart where you left off!

If that doesn't work, well, I apologize I can't think of anything else!

I got the exact same problem. Maybe its coded into the game?

The game will load up normally but very soon after I receive the message that "DDLC.exe stopped working". Worked fine a few days ago, is this a bug?

This sounds like some sort of bug. I don't know why this is happening: It's certainly not part of the game.

I never experienced this issue myself. I will try the game when I get home from work on my main PC and see if I can replicate the issue.

For now, I'd try reinstalling and say "continue where I left off" once the game finishes reinstalling.

So reinstalling the game doesn't work for me. The only work around I've been able to find so far is to download zip file of the game through the DDLC website and open the application not through Steam. Unfortunately, that means you have to start all over again, but it's doable for me. Hopefully this is just a bug and not an actual feature ;A;
