Doki Doki Literature Club

Any good games like this one?
I mean less in the way that it's an interesting visual novel and more in the way that it breaks the fourth wall or has interesting gameplay mechanics similar to DDLC.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Why should i chill out if i got insulted by a random person for no reason?
Also a suggestion is not better or worse and i do not see why one should be, it all depends on the person giving it in the first place.
As someone who's played it and watched it get played dozens of times, it's absolute garbage, sorry. Not your fault you can't see the glaring issues and all the copycatting.

Fallout 4

One game that noone's ever heard of - "199x". It's got the master of all trigger warnings (and some weird 18+ subplot that won't matter too much, just so you've been warned), it's an RPG maker game and costs less than a Big Mac. It's a really weird game, but I loved it and found it both depressing and touching in equal measure.

If you're into actually mature content (not "mature"), and enjoy gloomy atmosphere (but without being too edgy) and poetry, then The Void should draw you in. It's not a visual novel though, but a proper game with gameplay, but I should warn you that it's one of the most difficult games I've even played, so be prepared to fail it multiple times before you manage to finish it.

Ha, I was actually thinking about recommending this one as well, but I wasn't sure it was hitting the right marks ;) Regarding difficulty, there is an (inofficial) easy patch available, since apparently so many people had problems finishing it.

IMSCARED
try 'THE LAST YANDERE'. It's a free visual novel on iOS and Android :)
disclaimer: I am the developer of the game. Believe it or not it was being made prior to DDLC's release haha. It's much shorter though, but I hope you'll like it.

Undertale or The Stanley Parable if you haven't played them already

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely check out The Last Yandere, and I have played both Undertale and The Stanley Parable already (both are fantastic).

Actually, now that I think about it Panzermadels and Stay Stay DPRK are games similar to this. Cutesy VN Dating Sims that don't go the way you think they will.

"Higurashi when they cry hou" is sort of like ddlc it's a horror visual novel without the forth wall break. You can get 2 chapters of the game(s) for 1$ right now on humble bundle I believe. Higurashi also has a anime FYI.

Mirror Layers.
Not exactly 4th wall breaking through story and characters, but very cool in its own way. Involves using files in your actual computer and relying on sharing and retrieving files from other players on the internet.

The absolute closest game to doki doki litterature club in terms of 4th wall breaking and deconstruction of a genre is Spec Ops the Line

Doki Doki practicly ripped off parts of spec ops and while Spec ops is a lot more subtle in its approach its got a much better effect imo and its kinda hard to talk about without spoiling.

It follows the doki doki formula perfectly though and the game changes to ♥♥♥♥ with you and the game world changes based on your choices to make you feel like ♥♥♥♥. there is no good ending and the only way to win is to not play. Give it a shot

I've watched Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and if the game is anything like the anime, it makes DDLC therapeutic in comparison.
There was one scene with a young girl getting beaten to death slowly and painfully while she kept crying for her brother. Heavy stuff.
