Can someone please explain how the health bar works?

Maybe it's because I'm red/green colorblind, or maybe 'm just missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to tell from the health bar how much health I have.
Some times, when I use the health thingy, it looks like one of the dots fills in, but do the fill in from the rightmost dot to the leftmost? But then, I look at the health bar again, and all my dots look like they are filled in even thought I just got hit...? There is a little smidge of red in the left side, does that mean anything? I am playing on Xbox series X if it matters, so I can't easily post a screenshot...

The health bar is in two parts, the line type bar shows your actual health and the dots above show how many times you can heal. Each time you heal one dot will become empty.

So why does the line part not seem to change at all when I use a heal charge? What is is supposed to look like?

okay, I just watched a video. There is a very subtle red line below the white one that fills in. Unfortunately, it is very dim and red is the color I have trouble seeing, so it's nearly impossible for me to tell. yay!

And the health orbs are bright gray when empty, and dark red when fulll. So to me, it sends the oppositse messagem as "bright" should be full and "dark" should be empty. The red color does not come through at all. For a game with such an emphais on art, you would think they had someone who knew the first thing about UI design on the team...

Would be best if you also posted this in the bugs&technical issues section and maybe also mailed the devs. I think you're not the only colorblind person having trouble with this.

It's a dumb design. It took me forever to figure out too.
