Only thing I can imagine is... Everything is dream.
In dream, nothing makes sense but you think that you know what you are doing.
i can give a rough overview of what i pieced together but its mostly just the history of the world that you can understand through playing the game yourself and thinking critically about everything you stare out.
I think the fact that in god knows how many trailers, they never released a story trailer that showed the plot, the main characters, etc, was very telling (and equally worrisome).
Now that the total lack of a plot, and any sort of character or worldbuilding that comes with it has been confirmed, I'm Glad I stayed away.
This is a game for those artistically inclined, and pay attention to the details on a level much deeper than what most people can see at first glance.
If you haven't picked up on the story by act 3 or 4, you probably never will.
Don't mean to be condescending or rude in the remark, but not everyone is exposed to art enough these days.
And I mean "True Art", not cookie cutter mainstream stuff that passes as art.
You don't own the game though
