You can't save, you can't load, SOME abilities and passives also break and won't restore when you free space. The only way to restore broken abilities is to remove them then retrain them back from the station with credits.
A good example of abilities that break are the scavenger's "repick 2-all cards on match start", and repick 3 cards each turns start. Some other passives and STATS like how much shield you can heal or topoff with a technicien also break. You will be topping off something like 50 shields, then your inventory is full, start a new fight, and the same ability now only adds 15 shields.
When this happened, inventory items wouldn't organize properly as they got sold off. Instead of everything beneath the 'sell point' shifting left when the item disappeared, the slot would get filled with the item from the very bottom of the inventory and nothing would shift. Once enough items were sold off to return to the correct inventory size, the error would fix itself, and the inventory size maximum was restored (could not naturally amass more than the 5 pages again).
Because of this, you have virtually unlimited inventory as long as you fight and skip searching tiles. I do that all the times, since searching very rarely yields something worthwhile. Unless i am coming back to the ship for another reason and those tiles are on my way.
To be clear : looting everything means some extra credits from selling crap. But it also means you have to come back multiple times as your inventory is tiny, and this has a cost in energy. I feel like i get a lot more money saving energy and selling the loot from monsters than i would get from looting every single tile. It is also less boring to focus on fights and missions then move on to higher ships.
