Tried going to another ship, but the scans didn't reveal anything. Sounds like I may need to restart the entire game? :(
Yep pretty much. There isnt really grinding in this game like there was in Darkest Dungeon when you could keep hiring level 0 antiquarians and farm money. Managing your economy in this game is a big deal. My best advice is to make a team composition you know can recover shields for each other, and avoid taking Health damage at any cost, money down the drain going to the doctor.
Currently I'm running a Leader, Tracker, and Technician. With the technician speccing into drones to flood the field with more targets, plus the tuant drone is stupid overpowered so far for me. If you can find a taunt drone mod you're golden.
Yeah I ran into him too. I must've got lucky because he basically did a bunch of "power up" buffs for his first 2 turns with allowed me to flood the field with droids. He's prolly why so many people advocate having as stunner on your team.
Still stunner build at least for one team member is always advised, as there are cases where he's not alone. I'm destroying one right now in a level 7 direlict.
Ahhhhh damn that's right. Totally slipped my mind with his 100% stun resist. On that note I started running into giant ass worms on lvl 4 derelicts. Tried stunning them but they've always resisted. Wonder if they're immune or just super high resist.
The stats/debuffs you apply to an anemy will only show as icons during combat, so from there you have to do the math and calculate if you are cutting through their resi or evasion.
On a side note some builds don't have to do raw damage vs high resi, for that you only need 1 person who will cut through it, for instant in my team setup I have Bruiser who is super heavy both for tanking and CC/mass stun/including AoE stun that comes from shockwave and bonus to stun from items. It's pretty much 60%+ stun just from passive. Plus all kind of 100% stun cards.
Technician who uses both medic tool and tech tool, and has a shield spec. From med tool I have some very helpful boosts and annoying stats/debuffs removal. Rest is super deep into the shield boosting and shield fortitude abilities. Things like +25% damage resi to all team(add passive resi to that). But the weapon my Tech uses is focused on two things (fear on hit and bonus to chain hits, so basically when she fires suppression shots it's pretty much = at least 2 enemy from 5 will get fear and all will get -30% to hit.) That makes my Tracker super happy as he already has 70%+ evasion ^^
As for my Tracker he is builded into rapture + high crit and evasion.
So all the items I could get for crit/evasion and some resi, all went into precision weapon and energy sword slots, some went even into shield slots and weapon tool slots.
Next team I will probably build Leader, scrapper or medic (with AoE scatter shots) and technician (yeah I can't imagine playing without technician, hehe shield boosts are just so precious).
But at the same time I like Bruser so much, repel ability is so fun - he can be hit and get stunned, and still hit back during the enemy turn. Plus can have godly damage resi.
I can respect that. Though thinking about it had I waited till the full release of darkest dungeon before purchasing and having people tell me all the terrible things that could occur at random to wipe one's party I'd similarily be hesitant on making a purchase.
If it's something that makes you feel really uneasy, just pin it to your wishlist and wait for a sale if anything.
I have a sneaking suspicion my first game is going to go this way. I got like 2500+ paid in medical bills. Coulda been some serious upgrades.
Maybe I got lucky with the composition I picked in the beginning.
I have bruiser as tank, that is just busted. She reflects ranged attacks, ripostes melee attacks, with good percentage, taunts, does aoe with every hit, with chance of lethal and stun, and I made her semi medic recently. With about 90 health and shields, and about 50 percent damage reduction. With skills like shield leech (with aoe), pacifye, and stuff like that, she is just amazing.
Assassin that can pretty much one shot most stuff atm, marking targets, about 40 percent evasion, and give card draw too with quarter master skills.
And Leader, that gives energizes, card draw, and debuffs enemies to the ground, and has shield restore stuff and other buffs for the rest of the crew. Also leader affects how much reward you get, so that helps with money.
