focus and recycle?

what do these do? i havent been able to figure it out

Focus increaces damage for future attacks on the target for your character, and recycle means that you don't discard the card after you play it, it stays in your hand and you can use it again (even on the same turn if its a quick attack/shot or something like that or if you have energize).
