How to enable "EAX Advanced HD"?
P.S. Windows 7 x64, sound card - Creative SB X-Fi.

Same here. Downloaded the hack for FO New Vegas and copied:

• dsound.dll
  
• dsoal-aldrv.dll
  
• alsoft.ini

in the game directory. This didn't unlock "EAX Advanced HD", and "Multiple EAX Environments" in-game.
Realtek ALC295 here. Regular OpenAL[openal.org] already installed of course.

Yeah that doesn't work for me. Hardware audio mixing just mutes audio and still doesn't allow me to enable the other options.

Hmm, that's very peculiar. It works perfectly for me. Could you try doing this?
1. Set compatibility mode to Windows XP Service Pack 3.
2. Go into speaker properties and untick "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.
If this doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you. It's supposed to sound like this when EAX and headphone HRTF are working. First sample is with EAX on, 2nd is with EAX off.

Are you sure you didn't apply other patches and insalled something else apart dsound.dll, dsoal-aldrv.dll, alsoft.ini ? What's your audio device?

I have been informed by a user on my 3D Game Audio server on Discord that DSOAL not working out of the box is caused by your PC not having dsound.dll registered. He was able to fix it by installing this Creative ALchemy restriction remover on his new Windows 10 partition before copying DSOAL to the game directory.

So far, this has fixed DSOAL not working for at least 3 people.

i had the same problem tonight with soundblaster audigy Wndows 7 . i reset the card back to default and disabled everything possible. Also went with 41k bit sample rate. Ran the game in compatability XP service pack 3 and checked off the last 3 boxes down to DPI scaling on high def. Also had to Tab out to Task Manager and choose the games executable T3main.exe and choose affinity cpu 0for one processor or the game loops the intro over and over.

FYI: Resolution has zero to do with this problem so don't go there.

Try this mod for new vegas: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65094

This simple little wrapper doesn't just work for New Vegas, but a ton of old games that use EAX up to EAX 4 i believe.

I copied: dsoal-aldrv.dll, dsound.dll, alsoft.ini under '...\Thief Deadly Shadows\System' but didn't work. EAX option still ghosted.
Realtek ALC295 here.
