Sneaky Upgrade: Unofficial patch for Thief 3 does not exit properly.

Hi Guys,

I did install this after installing Thief: Deadly Shadows as I could not climb ladder. Anyway, after installing the unofficial patch from https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138607 it runs fine after initially setting and tweaking it to my preference.

I run the game icon called "Thief 3 with sneaky upgrade" icon from the desktop and loads the game and play with it fine. I am almost nearing the end game but every time I exit the game the game does not exit fully. My cursor still shows the Thief cursor and cannot exit or end task from task manager and the only way to fix this is to log off and back on.

Anyone has the patch installed and can give any suggestions.

Hi, well all I can really say is the game (with Sneaky Upgrade) didn't exit properly for me either when I was on XP and Windows 7 but it exits properly now (Windows 10 x64). I right-clicked on the "Thief 3 with Sneaky Upgrade" icon to check and yes, I run it as administrator. Sorry I can't be of more help right now, good luck!

Thanks. I am running Win 11 and I will try running (the icon) as administrator and see if it works. Thank you.

Still the same. Ran the desktop icon as Administrator and no change. Program doesn't fully exit. Never mind. I am almost at the end so will finish the game. Thanks

My pleasure. Just had a thought.. you're using the 1.1.10 version? I noticed there's a "crash on exit bugfix" in the 1.1.10 Sneaky Upgrade release notes. Another option might be running it with a dgvoodoo2 wrapper which could bypass a gfx card/driver or specific Windows 11 prob. I'm guessing it's Windows 11 related so there's not much you can do. For sure, don't waste too much time on this it's not worth it mate. Now let's get this TAFFIN' game finished, cheers XD
