For any new users: Install the Sneaky Patch

It'd be great if the community could vote to pin a post because it gets tiring recommending the patches for all 3 Thief games over and over and over when people ask for help getting them to work.

my game works even if im not using that patch

Checking the modification and configuration guides should be the first thing people do.
I did it just so I could run the game high res. Bonus that Sneak Patch adds a bunch of tweaks and options.

I installed the tweak, because I got the bug that Garrett cannot lockpick and climb on walls (on Win 7 I did not have these problems) now the game doesn't load my save games.

I did everything they suggested: re-install the tweaker and set the save files path to the right location. It was already on the right location.... so I didn't change it. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Thief Deadly Shadows\save

I set in the tweaker to using version 1.2 because, it said that is for completing gameplays with previous save files, and still nothing.
I also chose the option to regenerate save files from save index on startup, and that did nothing either.
I copied my saves into every folder that is possible in the save folder: the standard one, the 1.2 and the 1.3 one, even if it's incompatible, yet nothing.

So I have 27 hours in the game, and I am in Gamall's lair which I feel is maybe closer to the end of the game, and now I cannot continue it. So I am very angry.

Once I cool down, I guess I will have to replay the whole game...
