Is this the same as the GOG version?
The GOG version which runs on Dosbox is impossible to finish because it keeps crashing all the time, is this different than it?

Steam version runs on Dosbox and yes, it keeps crashing :steamfacepalm:

Well then it's a waste of money... I wonder if the Screamer 2 which is coming to Steam also is crashing too? I never got the GOG version so I don't know about that one.

And it's crashing? That's fail.

It was funny game in 90's, but today it looks as ugly as Merkel's ass. Want some old arcade racing? Grab some early Need for Speed or Flatout 2, this is just too outdated for playing.
For 1 dollar it could be fine for collectors, but this price is a joke.
Go to options and change to LOW DETAILS

This works for me :BBFflame:

Same problem with the GOG release here, a shame. I still own my disc, I need to set up an old PC with Win98 for this and a few other titles.

I don't know if this has been fixed, but this seems to be fine for me?

I played it through the first championship wtih only one game crash. Its annoying but the game saves your progress. I think this is ok for a dosbox emulated game.

Game runs like a charm - completed all championships and drive "The Bullet" now :bhbrofist:

My game mainly crashs on the last track (canyon). Setting to Low Details helped. But is there no other solution?

I tried on Linux but it crashes a lot.

open "dosboxScreamer.conf" seek for the line memsize and change the value (in my case "memsize=16" to "memsize=128" if this doesnt work you can try to play with window mode https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Screamer or change some values on dosboxScreamer.conf file https://www.gog.com/forum/screamer_series/how_to_screamer_1_joypad_and_good_framerate

I tried the GOG-version several times in the past. It crashed all the time but even when it didn't it was almost unplayable. In comparison the steam version runs smooth like hell. Yes, the canyon course can be frustrating, did crash several times while playing the career mode. But in the end I was able to finish and got the rocket car unlocked. All in all, even with the frustrating crashes, it's a real blast from the past...

Hey thank you, now it runs without any crashes. Thanks a lot. The memsize was the problem
