Item drops on death
You should probably not drop things like equipment and your taskbar.
There's nothing fun or interesting about dying again because you dropped your armor and now don't have any health, not being able to attack because you dropped your weapon or not being able to mine through walls now because you dropped your pickaxe.

On top of that, there is no single "corpse" item through which you get all your stuff back so enjoy frantically clicking individual armor pieces in a bullet hell of onehit kills.
If you must drop something, please drop everything but equipment.
Or how about gold.
Or how about not doing it at all because the potential of unwinnable scenarios is just not worth it imo.

Once you get just a bit in, you can pay gold to get all your items back instead of retrieving them.

There are multiple ways to get your gear back besides fighting for it with reserve gear and/or abilities. Abel will retrieve everything for you for some gold, which makes turns death into a gold penalty. Some classes have abilities that allow them to just go and pick up their items out of combat. You can use a Scroll of Death to kill everything on your screen, or a Scroll of Destruction near them to clear the space and move the monsters. You can lure monsters away, dig holes under them, or block them in. You can pick items up while teleporting, so you can use that for a super fast exit.

I made the mistake of kept jumping into the 'It' boss room repeatedly to get my gear back and try to beat the last bit of it when I was under-geared to take it on (had been whittle it down). Wound up without my items or gold and had to farm trash to make the money to buy my gear back, seems whatever happens its possible to gear up again. I think for the boss rooms though it would be better if you gear dropped outside -some bosses its pretty much impossible to go back in and get your gear back if the wrong items drop as you insta-die on entering as you life can be so low without items. Most of these games you drop loot rather than your items or weapon - maybe there could be a way to bind some items or have some slots no-drop?

Unlike Terraria, I find recrafting your gear is totally doable.
Just save your bars, have an extra pick and set ready just in case, dig smarter.

You can always craft the basic tools from surface materials, or even punch blocks to destroy them.

Okay so I just fought that eyeball boss thing as a bard that has the ingenious game mechanic of surrounding itself with tons of little eyeballs and then bumping all over the place and if I kill them while they're surrounding the boss, the little eyeballs spray fast traveling, tiny projectiles everywhere that take off around 25% of my health, instantly killing me every time that damn thing has those things around it.
In addition, there's the second ingenious game mechanic of freezing the player in place so you can watch yourself die while hammering on the keys.
Because fun.

So I just threw myself at the thing, kept buying potions and resummoning my equipment until I ran out of all. of. my. gold.
My teleport point was right in the boss room which I teleported back into naked like 50 times over and over to do chip damage because I no longer had the money to get my stuff back nor did I have healing potions but the boss was at like 10% health anyway.

Then I killed the boss.

Then some leftover adds killed me again.

Now it tells me I can no longer return to the teleport position because it is "unsafe" because apparently it does that when you kill a boss and want to teleport into the boss room.

All of my equipment is now in that boss room near the bottom of the world and if there's item despawn on it, it'll probably disappear before I can get to it.
What the actual ♥♥♥♥. This is garbage.

Also at the captain obvious brigade above this post: how about coming up with 1 reason how this makes the game more fun because I sure dumped more than enough reasons all over you why this is horrible.
I'm not asking how to get my things back, I'm asking why you have to lose them in the first place because it leads to nothing but problems and to what end exactly?

That is the kind of super bad decision making that rightfully should end your game.

How about next time a boss seems that dangerous you instead spend time farming better gear and crystals?

Right.
The part where the boss is dead but I still can't reach my gear, totally on my decision making.
I should've looked into my crystal ball and seen that the game locks me out of my teleport point.

Also the part where you can just lose all your gear?
Totally fine and fun game mechanic that needs to be there because reasons, you should just strategize around it.

Yeah so you know what would make dark souls more fun?
If you just splattered all your weapons, armor and healing items all over the boss room when you die so you have to run naked and pick it all up individually.
Fun. Fun!

It would be okay tho because "decision making".

Nice sense of personal responsibility you got there. You'll say anything other than acknowledge you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, right?

Throwing myself at the boss and spending all my gold, fine but how is losing access to my teleport on me again?
How was I supposed to know this would happen?

Hell you're one accidental T-press away away from losing your dropped gear after dying at a low level and being out of money because you spent it on upgrades or whatever at all times.
Why does that have to be the case? What are we gaining from this?

Belzor Bloodeye doesn't like AoE. Any player who destroys too many eyes without dealing with the adds will have a bad time. As a bard it is a good idea to turn your damaging songs off when attacking the boss and turn them on to easily clear the adds.

If you keep dying to a boss (or any monsters), consider also upgrading your gear and choosing the right equipment for the fight, or leveling your character some more. In your case, resistances would help to avoid being stunned.
