If you don't believe the complete Steam build features are worth it (windows/native/offline/lan/coop/server modes w/ all options/features/fields/loadouts unlocked) - that is ok -- but all of the online multiplayer is still free to play, and will always remain free to play through a web browser, just as it has been for the last few years for all our players.
There is no obligation to get the new steam complete version if you are uninterested in the additional features it has available.
I hope this helps clarify! Thanks for the inquiry.
i came here because this game always shown up as free 2 play search in steam but i need to pay 12 bucks to play it on steam pls fix this !!!!
All of the online multiplayer is still (and will always) be free to play through the web browser @ www.2DPaintball.com, as it has been for years. So any new players can play for free, the full online game with everyone (through your web browser.)
The Steam version is the "complete" game, native on windows, with offline/local/lan/coop/server and everything unlocked in single player and has the f2p multiplayer attached in the client, it's everything the game has to offer in a native game client, with new features (what we couldn't do through the web);
We are also continuing to build out these new features in the steam version (as it allows us to), along with maintaining/hosting the multiplayer servers for all players, and updating new multiplayer features and servers.
I hope you understand, thanks for your interest in our game.
Eiernacken,
When we were reviewed by steam, we were assigned a f2p tag for our online multiplayer, but it is interesting that we are listed this way by steam.
Thanks for the inquiries; Keep an eye out the next few weeks!
