FFXIII was kind of a real time/ turn based hybrid. You had no control of your characters movement but you had a segmented bar in which you used to input attacks and magic. For example a normal attack would use up one bar and stronger spells would use 2 bars. So you basically inputted your characters chain of commands in real time. So its like a more active turn based? If that makes any sense.
([Dual Combat System]:features a fusion of real-time and turn-based dual combat modes, with both modes able to be freely selected by players).
so I think I know what you mean but it says you can freely choose so maybe a little different. if it's a good price I think I'll buy it when it goes on sale though it looks like it's delayed becausae it said less than an hour for a while but now that's gone. I'm more looking forward to "Star Ocean" in two weeks anyway.
It's pretty much an exact copy of FFXIII's battle system, which is fine for me as that was the best thing about FFXIII IMO.
The combat animation is definitely worse. Only 80 mins in so I can't really say, but it looks and plays almost like n indie FFXIII (not 2 or LR which has more refined combat). Even down to the guard break.
