Anyone Interested In Modding This Game?
years ago tools were updated to rip the models from this game. the models can acctually load strait into 3D editing software. maybe that might help this game out.

I'm definitely going to be looking at it. Day 1 nude patch is a guarantee tho

Interesting. the game could use more grass and different enemies judging by the screens on the steam page.

the game could also use higher polygon characters.

Nah, doesn't need those things... Wouldn't be bad though, but it's fine without them

I think this game is going to need mods. the game is not looking that much better than what i played before. i was hoping that this would have enhanced textures. now i don't even know if i should pick this up yet.

I would LOVE to see someone making Aya Brea model for the main character .. that would be insanely fitting .. i hope someone does that and soon

I don't think it needs anything for the textures. I'm glad they didn't upscale or change them and it looks the same as the 360 version does to be honest.

I respectfully disagree. the game hasn't aged well, not even on it's own platform did it age well. and It's recommended requirements makes no sense. a GTX950 isn't necessary for this straight port. the game only used 130 Gflops of power. GTX950 is 15x the amount of power necessary. A CPU from 7 years ago could run the original game at 1080p 60fps. this port was literally dumped into steam. they could have made better use of the steam market to revamp a few things.

I've been playing it on a Surface Pro 4 and it runs just fine. If it can run on here (even though mine is higher end, i7-7760U@2.5GHz, integrated graphics), it can likely run on any modern proper PC.

I'm sure one can and will.

My GoogleFu is clearly failing me, because I cannot find a single thing about that. I'm REALLY interested in getting as many of the assets from this game as I can, so I can try my hand at importing them into Unreal Engine 4. Do you happen to know anything more about getting the assets?

from what i remember it was Noesis 3D that can read the models.

The tools are on the website. from there you can read the models, providing the game code is similar to the 360 version.

I did come across noesis, but I can't find any tutorials on how to use it to extract Bullet Witch. I found tutorials for other games, but no two games are alike when it comes to extracting their assets, so no two tutorials were the same. And just trying to open the game's files with noesis, gives me an error message that the file can't be opened.

hmmmm,

If i remember correctly, i tried the dlc outfits of the 360 version. they were saved to a usb drive from the XBL martketplace. according to xentax - the models and textures are stored in ".cpr" format.

this is what the model looks like when ripped-

Okay, Quick BMS has the script to extract asstes in CPR files.

Bullet-Witch\data\concept\PWx contain DLC outfits. 5 is fairy, 4 is the school outfit, 3 the skirt. Not tried others yet.

Bullet-Witch\data\data\stable\graphics\chara contains originals assets, PW0 is the original outfit.

The Nvidia DDS plugin for Photoshop gives me an error when I try to open thoses textures, but the DDS plugin for Gimp is ok (god I hate Gimp).

What is strange, is the files are *.dds (like PW3_body_m1_game_psd.dds ) but, it seems to be a png file, from the header (and the fact that ms paint can open them)

Okay, more tests done. It IS PNG files renames as DDS. Why ? Dunno.
QuickBMS is VERY limited. You can't import back files if they are bigger. But still did a quick POC edit.
