Pros:
- If you are looking for a game where you try to make money while keeping up with basic needs (food, housing, entertainment, etc), then this game will appeal to you.
- The game economy seems pretty realistic as it accounts for things like inflation, taxes, random emergencies

Cons:
- Basic UI and graphics
- One play-through seems to be all you need to experience the game.

Neutral:
- There are some strategies that are more effective than others. In my play-through, I worked a retail job until I saved up for real-estate certificate. Starting your own business seems to be the best way to make money in the game, and it is easy to snowball into multiple businesses once you have one of them.
- Cost. If you like this type of game then it is probably worth $12 to you, but there are other games at the same price point with much more replayability and broader apeal.
