It's pretty badly optimized, so I guess it's something like sable. It's a shame too 'cause I really liked the game, doesn't seem to be so short either!
I'll happily pay a fair amount for a GOOD indie game, even if it's short, than a boring 50+ hour game from a big studio.
You'd naturally pay less for a shirt that would last you a single year, than one that would last 10. A game with 30, 40+ hours of content will naturally cost more than one with just 10 hours.
No need to get your panties all in a bunch and start throwing a fit and calling people dumb. You do what you want with your money and let others do the same as well. Jesus Christ...
What hardware do you have?
MB - Asus ROG Maximus XII Extreme
CPU - i9-10900k
Cooler - Noctua Nh-D15
GPU - RTX 3080
RAM - 2x 16gb Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz / 2x 32gb Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz (96gb total)
PSU - Corsair HX1200i
Display - Ultrawide LG g-sync monitor (2560x1080px)
Maybe your GPU or CPU is throttling or not reaching maximum power draw for the workload so you're having reduced performance as a result. You also have way more RAM than you need, either of the two pairings should be fine. But do you have XMP enabled on your RAM? What temps do CPU and GPU get to? (Get HWMonitor made by the guys who make CPU-Z, and you can use that to check your hot spot temps and highest power draw for your CPU and GPU)
-No changes to NCP (all global settings), except I lock my max fps at 120 (My monitor is 144hz but I don't need 144 frames). G-sync enabled, V-sync disabled (in-game).
-XMP is enabled. Also, the i9-109000k is known to be a pretty hot boy, so for it to withstand the tropical summers of Brazil (where I live) without losing performance, I had to undervolt it while slightly overclocking its frequency.
And before you say this is the cause of my troubles, I can play games like:
God of War / Uncharted 4 / The Division 2 at ultra settings/120fps/DLSS OFF without even a hitch.
Control on ultra/high settings/ FULL RTX at 90~100 fps with stable frame rate.
RDR2 / Death Stranding runs at high/ultra DLSS OFF between 80~120fps with very stable frame rates.
All this with CPU temps staying around 70~75C (spikes of 80~85C) and GPU temps never even going beyond 80C and staying in the lower 70's when stressed but mostly 60~65.
-HWmonitor has been my close friend for years now : )
Season doesn't run extremely bad for me, it's not Sable or anything. But for what it is, it should run flawlessly just like way more demanding games do on my machine.
Like I said in my review, this is a PC game now, and as such, it should have an actual settings menu. Would go a long way in letting people combat a plethora of performance issues themselves while we wait for possible performance and QOL patches.
What FPS were you getting in Season? Cause I have a 5800X CPU and RTX 3060 and get 220-240 fps uncapped playing. My lows are 120 fps. (All on a 4k resolution)
