Backswing Glitch
I will start out by saying I work with computers every day so I have tried everything I know to correct this problem. It has happened in the past, but for the last week or so the game is unplayable. When in a backswing, the player continuously resets back to address right away. Sometimes it will happen 5-10 times in a row before I can get the player to backswing correctly, but it's unbearable. Here are the things I have tried:

- Uninstalling Steam and TGC 2019 several times. I also attempted to install on my local SSD instead of the external SSD I was using.

- Removed my controller from Device Manager and reinstalled drivers. It doesn't seem like a controller issue as I just purchased a month ago (Xbox PDP Afterglow)

- Reset all in-game settings to default, re-assigned the controller. Also reset graphics settings to default and played around with multiple settings to see if it was something there.

- Disconnected all other peripheral controllers from my system. I even removed my PC from my desk and tried hooking up to a TV. Produced the same issue.

- Recalibrated in Windows. No change.

I've done everything I can think of from an IT standpoint besides formatting my PC which I'm not going to do for this game. From a Google search I see others have had this issue. I understand HB never really came out with any other patches beyond when the game was first released and this seems to be something in the game. I also have a video of this but not sure if I can attach, I will try to put in the videos section. Again I have been playing this game since it was released but now it's unplayable with this issue.

Edit: It's also weird, because it only happens on every swing except putts.

I have run into this as well using an XBOX 1 controller. Couldn't find a fix so went back to mouse for swing. Wanted to try controller because some players mentioned it was easier to control swing accuracy, but unfortunately I could not get past this issue.

Well, since there has been no updates / patches to the game, I find it highly unlike that the game is the issue as this would be an issue from day one if so?

Only thing I can imagine is that the controller is faulty, or that Windows might have had an update messing with the XB controller. Personally I use a DS4 and it works perfect. And yes, I read that the controller is brand new, but controllers might start acting up even after days. Its really more likely that something happens after a month than after two years if you treat it nice.

Do you have your mouse connected when playing with controller?

Putting is the only swing that doesn't have tempo and a forced minimum speed swing. Only thing I can think of there must an input lag or low pooling rate that's not accurately tracking stick movement.

I had an old Logitech F310 that didn't have this issue but it was very old so the swing tempo was bad. Maybe I will go back that route and order another one.

Any other recommendations for PC controllers? I saw the steelseries stratus xl also gets decent reviews.

Cliffs, yes I tried unplugging everything except the XBox1 controller. I do use a wireless Logitech Keyboard/Mouse combo.

Have you asked about this on the HB TGC forums? Sure to be answered I would think

Couturemk57, thanks for that suggestion. It seems to have definitely helped.

There was a massive deadzone in the Steam calibration. Thanks guys! I didn't even know about big picture mode in Steam. This is about the only game I play on here.

Well that lasted all of about one round, then it started happening again. Guess I'll have to try another controller.
Wirenut48 May 3, 2020 @ 4:00am
That would cause the lag, you don't need any deadzone in steam. Have you created a custom config in steam for it and set it to load with game in the games properties?

Is it possible you have a keypad like Razer Tartarus of Logitech G13?

Launched 2019 for the first time today, but played TGC1 & 2 without any issue so far, and I'm having same issue, not much time to actually check

But while passing by, I must say that almsot every time I had a controller issue in a game, it was somehow related to another input device (most of the time, Keypad)

I also had this problem. i'm using an xbox one controller but it only happened when it was connected on bluetooth, as soon as i plugged the controller in it worked perfectly.

I went and bought a SteelSeries Stratus Duo and it fixed everything. Tempo and accuracy are also much better so I can finally start dictating shots with the master clubs.

I have a similar problem, some shots do them well, others do not and there is no explanation, today it is impossible to play, I am going to uninstall, the shot comes out with strong slice, sometimes it falls out of bounds, I have tried lowering graphics quality, resolution of screen, with and without internet connection, with two mice and a gamepad. I have reviewed in this chat and it seems that it is something new because before there was not this complaint. I have already tried everything and can not find a solution, it is a defect that has the version downloaded two days ago from Steam.
