the graphics are better considering it's 15 years newer, but still the graphics on Links are pretty f-ing good for 2003 technology.
and i use powerstroke -- there is nothing better. i wish someone would take Links to this level.
I played PS Links 2003 for a very long time. It's understandable, considering Links 2003 is decades older than 2019, that there's going to be a difference in graphics, which are essentially incidental to the real crux: physics. Links 2003 in this aspect is still better, though 2019 is a good game and I enjoy playing it.
As far as courses go, Links 2003 has more, as it has been aroound much longer.
The two problems I have with 2019 has to do with lack of backspin-- balls roll out too much on approach shots, and some strange, inconsistent yardage on some of the shorter clubs.
But as for the swing mechanics (PC), 2019 does an excellent job with how the controller works with fast and slow tempos and the like. I would never play 2019 with the mouse, the PS swing of Links 2003 way better than what can be found in 2019.
Overall, though, I prefer 2019. It's a newer game, has a career mode, and very good swing mechanics (controller).
anyway - i agree that the physics in Links is still amazing even after all these years. when the 2003 version came out and Microsoft was still supporting the live lobby feature it was a pretty vibrant community -- shame that's not happening here. one of the more famous course developers had gotten some permission from MS to update the game engine and thus the addition of the 'Challenging' green conditions and at that time i was suggesting they update Links to have moving trees and shuffling crowds etc but Microsoft didn't see a future for vid golf...
