Where is the backspin?
I'm hitting a normal shot with a PW and the damn thing rolls 20 feet. And it wasn't rolling downhill. Noticed the ball rolls way to much for the higher iorns in general. What the hell is going on?

It only gets worse. Wait until you are playing slow greens and soft. The putts run slower but the chipshots have the same bounce with zero spin just like hard fast greens. Fairways exactly the same run always hard and fast.
Good luck to you doing anthing on this game.
Great tee to green but around the green and putting are the stuff of nightmares. Good game ruined by chipping and putting.
The Dev's won't listen as its been the sme since TGC original.

nah, chipping is quite good in the game, and soft, slow greens are easy peasy.
the main issue is th elack of spin on short irons.

Golf is a nightmare for anybody that plays it. You'll either love it or hate it. I do both.

It's "The Links Golf Club 2019", they just forgot to add the Links in the name ;-)

If you're looking for some stopping power you just need to sacrifice some distance for more loft:

A PW (beginner's set) at MAX loft will land at around 80 yards and will stop very quickly.
GW 65-70 yards
SW 55 yards with some backup
LW 40 yards with good backup

As far as the high irons (7,8,9) at max loft, you won't get the ball to backup but you can still have some good stopping power (usually no more than around 5 yards of roll depending on green hardness). I believe the 7 iron at max loft will go around 140-145 yards in the air if I recall correctly.

One thing you could look at is your settings for greens and fairways are they set to firm you can change that in all the courses

I do notice a differance in the chipping you dont have to throddle it back as much as TGC2
i find it to have a big learning curve with trying to figure out how far back to swing for wedge shots and putting also. but i stick with it.

i mean, i suck at real golf so why should this be any different!!!!! lol

but im enjoying the game

There is no backspin. I loaded up TGC2 (I have all 3 games on PS4) for comparison and managed to put a fully-lofted Lob Wedge shot into a Firm/Med-Fast green and get 6 yards of backspin.

It may not just be lack of spin, the ball flies a LOT higher in TGC2 (and Tiger/Rory) than it does in TGC2019.

They messed something up with the ball flight and that's why everything hits and rolls. Wedges are coming into the green like they're a 5 iron.

I know, I'll get 6 feet of roll on a damn lob wedge. I probably have almost 10 hours in the game now, I've never seen a ball stop up. Something is broken...

Flop shots too, even with a high lofted club, roll way too much.

i hope they are not going to change too much, it would become wayyy too easy.

I think the backspin is there .... but it takes a little practice.

TBH, I would have been a little dissapointed if I had fired up the game and played like a pro withing 1 hour.

We should not have to apply bandaids to make the game behave more realistically. The physics on this current version are in a broken state.
