Change character

My understanding was you could choose between playing a girl or boy in this game, but it stuck me with playing the girl. How do you change to the boy?

Sorry for the late reply.
But once you reach the doorway in the very beginning, instead of going through it when prompted, you should wait for another prompt to come up. I cant remember which button it is, sorry.

It's fine... enough retries and it landed male instead... then still did the girl on a second playthrough.
