Are mixed railroads impossible?
Started my first game. Got to just after I had all railroad buildings unlocked. Saw the potential (Especially since it mentions factorio in the description) and so I restarted.

This time I set things up with more intent. Laid out my village with rail lines pre-planned. Grand designs, etc etc. When I finally got back to having rail pickup/dropoff for goods flaws/limitations began to appear:
- Rail lines cannot cross/sub-loop. In fact junctions in general seem impossible.
- Only one rail cart per line.
- The rail cart loads up 100% from the first stop it makes, even if there are other stops to make.

So I very soon had a single rail cart full of fish, and my later stops at wheat and grain sat unused. My fish market was happy, my bakery and wheat market not so much.

I realize this is not meant to be a very systemic/involved game, but that seems to me to imply that it should be easier to just put something down and have it 'just work' (from the player's perspective). Some thoughts to make the rail system easier (Some of these being redundant/mutually exclusive):
- Allow the cart to hold a bit of each resource type, since the types are fairly limited.
- Spawn one cart per type of resource on the rail network, the carts could pass through each other
- Create/destroy carts as needed and have the carts be direct delivery agents based on what's needed: if a market needs 3 fish, create a cart at the nearest warehouse to pick up three fish and take it directly there, destroy cart on delivery.

I just wanted to make a cute little railway, but with the current system I would need a very complex multi-track monstrosity to properly supply more than one good by railway.

Rails could definitely use a little love.
At least rail crossing each other.
Agree would like to see Rail Turnouts implemented
I've been able to mix my train lines for 2 commodities, any more and it gets cluttered.

But what I did was take say fish and wood and loaded onto the rail, then delivered to stockpile and fish to have two different rails intersect for a different point of delivery.

made a fishing pier / village on a peninsula that the train rail intersected nicely with a logging area I made. it delivers a mixed amount of fish and wood.

I eventually re-tooled it to be separate again due to volume of demand of food, so I prioritized the fish versus both.
