How to get your Peons to Harvest Berries

I have priotizied them, I have set peons to only work on berries and nothing else... and yet my food supply keeps dwindling.

Is there something I am missing?

Can you screenshot real quick. I want to see if you have non assigned workers, time of year (potentially bad map with scarce food) there could be alot of reason maybe full storage of other stuff, so they arent doing any hauling new item jobs. Assuming you are like day 1 new game though. Lets see a screenshot and go from there.

I got settled right next to an elderberry tree, all of the bushes are at full capacity. The tree is set as top priority.

Perhaps the berries are being collected and put inside of warrens?

Goblins don't eat out of the storehouse, the berries are taken from the storehouse and placed into the warrens, where Goblins eat them. you can see this in one of the tabs when selecting a warrens. These berries won't appear as part of your stockpile in the top right.

Personally what i do is take one or two high-trade goblins, set them to exclusively pick berries, name them "Berryboy" or "Berrygirl" just so i don't accidentally put them somewhere else, and then i prioritise one specific berry bush, and that seems to work out okay.

Be sure you've got a good supply of Storehouse-workers (Haulers) and peons. Both of those are required for a healthy village.

I have 99 berries at my 3 warrens but empty at storages ... and no more berry harvested to storage ... and the goblins all died one by one because of starving ... no one eat the berries inside the warrens

also the priest in the temple did nothing until they all died because of starving

yeah the goblin AI is god awefuly bad.
All my goblins go hungry and kill each other but i have 140 berry and frogs and every warehouse has ppl working in them.
I just wana play a simple game and relex, if i want cluncky UI and AI, i go back to DF

have you priority any resource？if you priority an whole ancient resources，goblin will focus that resourse first.
I also turned on the priority of ancient trees before. As a result, goblins would not collect stones at all, but the branches kept dozens of them.

I've just been digging into the effects of priority, you will turn off the haul resourse priority and then one goblin responsible for gathering a resource only. If a goblin takes on too many quests, it will only do the ones closest to the warehouse
