The Duo Bosses were a terrible concept
Disclaimer: I routinely play on Guardian 4 and regularly win.

I found myself intrigued by the premise of the the Duo Bosses. Now that I've actually played the mode, I find myself wondering how the blatantly obvious design issues with the concept weren't immediately discovered.

These bosses, individually, are designed and balanced around them being the player's sole focus of attention with their projectile-heavy attacks working accordingly.

But now we have to deal with two of the buggers. While their attacks have been tweaked to a degree (most evidently with Judgeball), that doesn't change the fact we're now expected to split our focus between two bosses who are often on opposite sides of the arena and raining hell at my blind spots.

Not that we were ever expected to triumph against these nongs unscratched but getting through duo bosses alive feels like a nigh impossible task. I was—and still am—of the opinion that restricting the player to five perks feels like missing the point of Endless Modes and that I want to climb to the utmost zenith of power but I can't even get to four perks before dying to the second duo boss fight.

I'm not married to the idea of duo bosses, but on the other hand I like that boss fights are finally challenging.

I wouldn't call it challenging at all, a challenge is one you can learn and pass effectively but in a game full of rng and the gamemode being full of punishments instead of benefits, it's just catering to masochists.

I understand needing challenge in games, that's what makes them fun but this is just a joke at this point, you can't even counter bosses so you could be walked upon and just smacked with no ability to defend yourself. the only challenge for any endless run is if you will get lucky rng at the start to breeze through the rest. (and if you can make it out alive from dual boss room, which is just hoping for a good boss roll that actually allows you to dodge lol)

really there's nothing challenging in this. it's just unfair gamemode to put it plain and simple that punishes players for daring to play it.

This makes Infinite mode go from "cool gamemode" to "2 levels long punishment".
It's just plain bad.
And getting to be tag teamed by the final boss and one of the 3 bosses I hate the most when you're level 3 with weapons you had to dumpster dive for does not help contradict this statement.
tbh duo bosses has its upsides and downsides. i dont like fighting them but the fact that duo bosses allows aoe builds to be kinda good feels nice
