Doom Gardens crystal powder problem

so I tried to do the collector's quest today, and I decided to go with the following route:
canyons - ruins - scrapyard - fields - doom gardens - aqua station - fusion core
to get the required 3 crystal powder (I already have all the power crystals) and this should have worked, but when I finished doom gardens the door to the crystal was locked, but the timer was also gone. I don't think I ran out of time, so did I miss something? I still followed the rest of my route and got the other 2 crystal powders, but I can't find a route that gets 3 crystal powder without going through doom gardens. I therefore seek the wise advice of the steam community. (also if i'm an idiot and just need to go faster through doom gardens, please tell me)

You have to do doom gardens unless you get lucky with a portal or something. Someone else was saying the lottery guy can have them? Doom gardens isn't great but it's doable. Just shoot the big bomb guys and grab the orbs they drop on your way through.

If the timer was gone and the door was closed, then you ran out of time. You don’t necessarily have to try and fly through doom gardens as long as you’re actively clearing enemies and walking forwards, I think it’s actually more difficult if you try to skip enemies and run for the end.

What holo said. If you are having trouble try using a shotgun (sawed offs) with volatile perk. makes it a breeze you can walk through it.

thanks for the tip! i tried it again and got the powder with sherrif's carbine, since i can quickly hit the enemies that drop healing cells. (in conclusion i was just not paying attention to the timer the first time i tried it)

sorry, where is the crystal (yellow) powder in Doom Gardens? I already have the power crystal. Is it in the room where the power crystal was? I have to run the timer again?

yup. it's right where the crystal was. if you fail the timer the door shuts and you just move on in your run.

yup. it's right where the crystal was. if you fail the timer the door shuts and you just move on in your run. :rq_stache:
