This thread is basically "Borderlands bad, right you guys?"
My question is based on real steam reviews. Any comparison to Borderlands is a huge red flag. I played some Roboquest though and I'm happy to say it is nothing like Borderlands and actually pretty good.
Critics who first play Roboquest are going to immediately draw comparisons to Borderlands because of the artstyle and gun rarities, but over time it should become clear it's more of a hybrid between DOOM 2016 & Borderlands w/ roguelike elements.
it has similar art, looting, weapons, character abilities, luckily it lacks the neomarxist inclinations of the 3rd game and stealthed neomarxist assertions of the 2nd game
purge the heretics
I like Borderlands an this game but roboquest is a roguelike and not open world with tons of loot in it.
so either those "reviewers" didn't play both games or they also compare 2D with 3D games.
It's Steam Reviews, so I wouldn't expect the user to have played Borderlands OR Roboquest.
