Any tips for taking out Uncle Jim?
Normal Difficulty: I've beaten Royal Beetle, Iris, the ball fella and the other contraptions, yet the only boss I'm yet to beat is Uncle Jim.

Scaling the tower, using the podium for cover, and making platforms for cover isn't the issue. The major problem is time. By the time I get his HP to 1/4 the entire level is doused in acid and there's simply no winning. I've watched YTube videos where people manage to destroy him halfway up the tower and I have no idea how that's possible.

simply put. damage. it's a dps race. are your guns upgraded? are you using good affixes? are you choosing good perks? are you focusing his eyes as the crit zones? are you corner shooting him around the tower to keep dps running?

Some weapons seem better than others for bosses but, as said above its a dps race. The extra jump and the jetpack tools help a lot here and as long as he doesn't have shield or spikes above you can jump on top of him and by your self some extra time at the end. Keep in mind he can still shoot you but, trading some health to finish him keeps the run going.

There is no clock you're racing against. You'll ALWAYS have the top of the pillar to fight on if you can't kill him before you get to the top. This gives you a place to recharge your jetpack without taking damage from the water. The only attack that can be troublesome is his beam at that point. Everything else can still be dodged reliably between Jumping and Jetpacking. His Missiles can even be shot down.

Generally speaking, by the time you reach him, most of your kit should be online. Assuming you're taking perks that have synergy with your weapon of choice, every class shouldn't have any problems gunning him down long before you reach the top.
