I mean what I said, which is explosives not having crits.
Sure, you can make it auto-crit 1.25x like every other weapon,
but you need spiky to get weak spot crits.
Other weapons that can crit by default can take advantage of the massive weak spots on most bosses from the get go, which leads to significantly higher DPS against bosses that you can consistently hit the huge weak points.
The pros of explosives having no dmg falloff and AoE is wasted on bosses too, leading to noticeably poorer performance against bosses.
Was my most recent fun run...
And if i happen to get one with buckshot.
Oh boy, That's an instant win run... Well most of the time.
she's just... beautiful to behold
(pro tip, get them with an element, and chance to fire a shotgun blast. enjoy)
all the stopping power you need to hit those 1 shot kills, but with a magazine big enough to clear a whole room
dual hellions with neat + velocity affixes = close second most favorite
If I am using an "infinite ammo" character, the windmill rifle with buckshot or the tommy gun is a close second due to the inherent buckshot.
For general use/fun to use freewheel shotguns of any type.
