Hard is pretty hard?

So I'm playing this game a bit like a wild man and I'm not sure if that's really optimal. Do you guys run in and kill everything or do you sort of sit back and plink away? I'm clearing level 1 with S most times but in the levels after the first boss I just start getting dominated using my current playstyle.

If you're gonna do an aggressive play style you should use guardian and activate your shields when in the thick of things. That's how I played aggressively and it worked for me all the way to guardian 4.

The game force you to use close combat most of the time (except few sniper builds with collect everything on crit kill) because drops from enemies disappears quickly. High difficulity play is dance between the enemy robots like Doom Eternal. Just keep playing, the more you playing the more gatgets will unlock to help you manage the fights. (i highly recommend to aim for the gatgets first) Also it is roguelike so you will constantly progress through and your firepower will grow.
