I had gotten this in a Humble bundle and the game launched into Game Pass with full crossplay between PC, Xbox 1, Xb Series. I got very excited, finally a child friendly FPS game that I could play co-op with my friend and his son on their Xboxes. We were utterly disappointed to learn that it was only 2-player co-op. I have to take turns playing with friend and his son. All of us want to play together.
I bet you this thread will also get swarmed by shills and apologists, making excuses as usual. Also people thinking they're the wittiest mofos alive, with snarky troll replies.
As for the co-op it's pretty clear that the level design supports only 2 entrances into a room most of the time, and the game would turn into an unreadable mess if there are more than 2 players.
But it's easier to chant "I want, I want" instead of giving it a little thought. I get it.
On the plus side, at least there's already netcode in the game. It's not like asking for co-op in a solo game, which is a huge hassle to do properly. Go see The Rifbreaker's game page if you like seeing people struggle with that. It's going to happen and devs are on it, but man is it complicated to do when the game wasn't supposed to feature it.
On the minus side... well, there still would be quite a few adjustments to make, and I wonder if the way the difficulty work is reasonably scalable to four bots, let alone the mess of bullets and explosions the arena rooms would become.
That's fine, I'll just vote with my dollar and boycott this developer's future games.
Clearly you're blind. The tone has long since already been set by know-it-all trolls and unpaid developer shills in this game's Steam forum.

... yeah, except, you know that's not how it would go in the grand scheme of things.
Sure, maybe you and your buddies would enjoy that, but you know fully well that if a feature such as four player co-op is officialy implemented, it will attract people who'll pay for it, expecting a good experience from it.
Not something you'd expect from a hack mod.
I really hope one day, people will realize that voting with your wallet actually implies BUYING. You're sending no signal by not buying, and what you think is a stance against something is completely lost in a market where 99% of people won't buy such or such game anyway, regardless of what it is or why.
Boycotting *may* works when it's allied to a lot of noise, and a big community pointing out what is the problem, and a big company with shareholders and expected results.
"I'll boycott any other game from those devs because Roboquest didn't have 4 players co-op" isn't exactly the kind of argument that will move crowds in the first place.
Not sayin they should add it now or anything but it would be a welcome sight at some point down the line. Maybe alternate co-op campaign via DLC that allows that even, up to the creativity of the devs
No decent developer will release a mode that's no good to play and more than 2 players won't work without complete rework.
Also what if someone buys the game for 4 player mode only and it's traah?
But yea, better to call anyone, actually thinking about the consequences for 5 seconds, a troll.
Not every game needs every feature...
