Gunfire is better roguelike and multiplayer game, Roboquest is better as pure FPS.

I like Roboquest a bit more as a mostly solo player. I played Gunfire for a bit after I played Roboquest and was looking for more similar games. RQ combat is snappier and it feels a little more skill-based. I think it's fine that both exist. They do different things well.

Gunfire feels a lot slower than Roboquest, and a lot more focused on getting a solid build rather than pure moving and shooting. (not saying roboquest doesn't have builds they just feel less required imo)

it's not so much about which one is better (both are solid imo) it's just more about which one you prefer

Roboquest only supports coop for two players which is just not enough for most people. They could sell more copies of Roboquest if they opened the coop mode up to four as gunfire reborn does it. I love both games equally for their charm and character. Roboquest hits that robot scifi fighting itch for me and gunfire reborn has the cool asian lore vibe with magic and stuff.

There's also Ziggurat 2, if you didn't played it yet. Pretty darn good as well, you can skip the 1st entry, but it's worth a shot.

I've gotten some good game recommendations off comments like these. I don't see it as discrediting Roboquest. Wouldn't be commenting here if you didn't play RQ and enjoy it a bit.
