Question marks on world map

What are they? The top is for data logs, the question marks I have no idea, but I've found about half of them? I don't even know what I'm looking for.

Is it the digging spots?

idk if they are digging spots, but in Canyons one of the digging spots has the Slippers gadget in them, and that counted as a question mark
I think the question marks might refer to quests, like giving the paintbrush to the artist bot in Haven City, or maybe things like paths to corrupted maps, not entirely sure tho

Hmm, so maybe just like, generalized "secrets", for whatever counts as that. That would line up with me having gotten ~half of them.

Yeah I think it is. I have two for Oasis, and I think its for finding the waterfall area and picking up the spear.
