How does this hold up as a singleplayer-only game?

I get that coop is fun with friends but I don't really have any (at least those who would play this). I really can't be asked to play with randos either.

So how does this work as a singleplayer-only experience? Can I get 100% achievements/unlocks solo? Is it fun? Or is it akin playing counter-strike with bots, like it loses all meaning without coop?

I haven't been able to get a quick play match going pre-release or in 1.0. It holds up very well as a single player game.

played it mostly solo. for me the co-op is just an added bonus for games. i am mostly a singleplayer gamer. so yeah, this is absolutely fine alone, just like any other roguelite game.

you have no co-op bot, so counter-strike couldn't be any further from this... not sure about the achievements though, there could be some linked to co-op. if you have a friend who might be interested, why don't you get it as a gift? it's less than 20 bucks atm.

Been playing all my Roguelikes alone and this one is completely fine that way.

Playing solo you don't feel like you're "missing something" or "playing it wrong" at all it's safe to assume that's how it was designed especially since the trailer only mentions once "Solo or 2P CO-OP" and then don't even show any footage of a multiplayer action

From what I can tell, you can get 100% IN GAME unlocks solo.
In fact, I think the game is better when played solo.

HOWEVER, there are three steam achievements that require multiplayer.

Join a game in multiplayer,
Revive your friend in multiplayer,
and Beat the game in multiplayer.

Its awesome either way. The fast tempo in this game, makes it super dynamic, both alone and co-op
