I's difficult/annoying for me to remember what I was doing 1 year ago or what I was leveling/progressing or even what I DID as boss killing and general progression etc.
So starting on a clean slate is really enjoyable.
That being said yea to have everyone be happy with the game I think putting an option
- Would you like to reset [Yes]/[No]"
would have been perfectBut probably more complications and annoyance in a dev perspective when there's already a million things you need to deal with?
i never de-installed it, you did. so... i guess it's been a while since you played. so why not just play again? some of the old stuff doesn't even exist anymore, and you would have to unlock things anyway...
"Will our progress be reset when the 1.0.0 comes out?
Yes we will probably reset your progress when the game comes out. It is mainly due to the addition of achievements, the tracking of your ingame scores and the potential additions to the basecamp upgrades and story bits."
Added this specific note around January iirc.
thanks!
What got me though was the reset of all the settings. I don't remember my sensitivity and everything else so it's going to be a rather frustrating time until I get used to things as playing just feels wrong for the time being.
not even a pity thanks for supporting us to make it out of EA bonus...
The release build changes so many things that resetting is the only logical thing to do. The progression within the different maps, and the crystal hunt would be completely off if you were to start with the camp fully upgraded.
Did they promise progress will be carried over or something?
When it comes to progression systems it's often the case that coming out of ea is paired with a wipe.
to all playing it fresh (again): have fun, and maybe bring a friend with you.
see the quote a bit above? it was always said it will be a fresh start.
The rest of the game needed to reset to prevent save data issues.
