This game makes me sad
It's so much better in every aspect (maybe other than amount of content) than Gunfire Reborn yet it only has 4K reviews on Steam. I think this game deserves more recognition.

There are plenty of overlooked games that deserve more recognition.
Clonk Rage anyone?
Fort Triumph anyone?
Renegade X anyone?
Soldak Entertainment´s games anyone?
Heroes of annihilated empires anyone?
Rising Kingdoms anyone?
Section 8 anyone?

The more you look, the sadder youll get.
But then again one of the thrills of being a gamer is to find hidden gems in unexpected places.

To be fair I think this was made by a small number of people and 4k reviews = a lot of sales. Don't feel so sad.

The game isn't better than Gunfire. They are both good but Gunfire is a little more polished, even if i'd say this game is more ambitious. The movement and weapons are really fun in this game, sometimes more than Gunfire, but Gunfire has level random gen that is noticeable, a lot more content, and whatnot.

I know those games but none of them give me borderlands type of turn of brain and shoot with cool graphics feeling as much as this one

I'm planning on leaving a very positive review, but I'm waiting for 1.0 so I can give
more up-to-date feedback.

man asking about a modern current game made for current gen systems and you reply with some real 6/10 ♥♥♥♥ from the 19th century

Gunfire is extremely centered about coop and multiplayer this one is not

Roboquest's gunplay and movement are about 100x better imo

Agreed, this game has far more solid gunplay and movement. This game basically feels like what the real campaign for UT2k4 might feel like whereas Gunfire Reborn is much more developed in the mutator/items/RPG mechanics side of things with vastly inferior shooting mechanics.

The other thing Gunfire doesn't do as well is how this feels like some archive of the entire history of the genre that actually recaptures the gunplay of each entry its referencing fairly accurately. In reality having furry aesthetics may also be a significant contribution to the games success as opposed to the infinitely more niche mecha genre which honestly the game doesn't lean into hard enough.
I dunno, i actually like them both (and ArcadeGeddon and Risk of Rain 2) but if i would've to decide i'd prefer Gunfire over Robo-Quest. I don't find Gunplay and Movement is in on game per se better, but rather different, like if you would compare something like Quake or Unreal Tournament with something like Counter-Strike. I can see some people prefer the more fasterpace old-school-arena-shooter-esque concept of Robo Quest over Gunfire, but i personally enjoy it in shooter if they are more grounded / boots on the ground, and more methodical in their movement. (not saying i don't enjoy arena-shooter at all, but within some reasons - might be also why i alway prefered Halo over Quakes and such).

Gunplay the same i find them both pretty equally, targeting different stuff, though both have influence of classic arcade games with some modern ones. Like the Starterpistol reminds me so much of Overwatch D.va / Mercy Pistols... meanwhile in Gunfire (as a example) the throwing knives reminds of Genji.

And yes i do think also the Character-Concept adds to it. I (personally) find it pretty hard to make Robots memorable or give a sense of personality (by its visual design) - that's easier for Furrys in comparison, its easier to give them personality and are more expressive (in their Animations and such). Still like the Atmo / Setting of Robo Quest and yes in that regard it reminds a bit of Borderlands.
