Mana core issues

I used one of the cores as a objective quest for typhon outside marcaul. But all the other places Titans Reach Tyballs Folly etc the thing won't open up to put the mana core in what's up with that. They opened up before update 2 now they won't. I'm confused

Yeah, I can't use any mana cores. I don't know what's wrong.

Have the core in hand. That is, drop it then pick it up by holding E instead of clicking E. Then it should suck it in pulling it right out of your hand.

I used a couple in the place under the silver tree in Marcaul but Im not sure if it did anything. Checked the doom counter before and after but no change. This was just yesterday, definitely after update.

Aether cores change the doom counter. Mana cores just affect the materia

How do you use the Mana Core with a Materia Modus? Do you drop it into the plate? Seems like nothing happens.

Normally you drop the mana core into the plate and then HOLD E (or whatever your keybind is for your "interact / pick up") and as its held in front of the materia modus, it should be accepted. If this does not work, we can flag it as a potential bug.

As noted by Nox, remember that mana cores can be used to affect the water and lava levels outside of Marcaul. Aether cores can be used in Marcaul to impede the Doom Counter.

This is really weird but it didn't work for me most of the time and then all of a sudden it did. It tried it both times at the same place. The iris had not opened when I tried it before but suddenly it did.

The iris doesn't open at all in Tyballs Folly and titans reach etc they did open before update 2 but now it doesn't open in those areas anywhere.

Just followed up with the team: the materia modus may be LOCKED unless you receive the Abyssal Key for that level. Otherwise, the water and/or lava can rise too high and kill Haprukala at her cart...

If you are still encountering this issue, you can safely ignore the materia modus until you have gained the Abyssal Key to descend another floor.

That HAS to have been the reason. When I could actually use the mana core, the water rose so high, that it WOULD have put Haprukala under water if she still had been there. Thanks for the clarification.
