Can someone talk me through the last part (burning offerings) please?

Been attempting this section for over an hour and I'm completely out of patience with it and would just like to see the end now. I know how to exorcise Sarah from my body, it's just far too easy to die at random even knowing to turn the lights on. And otherwise I'm just walking from room to room with the environment occasionally changing. No idea if that's just what I have to do to progress, just walk around and around randomly triggering progress, but after the tenth time of dying and watching the excruciatingly slow reload blinking/voiceover I've had enough.

So, can anyone who's done it talk me through exactly what I'm trying to do to burn the offerings and if it really is a case of just walking in and out of rooms without dying until something happens?

You need to find a candle light, it's spawns randomly in one of the rooms, I have found it once in the kitchen and once in the garage. Each time you die the spawn spots change, so it's randomized. And if you are possessed just avoid the maggots on the walls and kitchen knives, those will result in the possessed killing 'you' as in committing suicide.
And when you find the cnadle to burn the picture, you run upstairs and win.

I give up, for now! I managed to burn the photo, I was not possessed (I guess), judging by the look of my body, but I was killed by a picture on the way up… (stairs)

Yes you were possessed, you need to get rid of her before you can get up, use a light to surprise her. Also how the heck you know my name, that was spooky.

Okay :D it's spooky after playing this game hah... I also just beat the game a second time... apparently the lighter can also burn the picture, 1 is out of fuel but if you find a second lighter it will work.
