2) Reviews are very positive because the series is very good. It hosts a lot of dialogue and descriptions (similar to Baldur's Gate) though the visuals are smaller, so the descriptions are even more important.
In principle you could start with any of the games, but I'd suggest starting with the first one, Avernum: Escape from the Pit.
3) There is an option to change text size from small to large. It has some limitations though, as you cannot affect it indefinitely. To see if this is good for you, try the demo maybe?
Cool thanks a ton for your replied. For the text size if size if limitation can I change the font size via configuration files. Quick question I do have mac book air , so are all the games available via mac ?
Everything Spiderweb used to be Win & Mac compatible (and latest also iOS compatible) but Mac support seem to have been removed from older games more than likely due to MacOS updates.
Here's list of Spiderweb games with MacOS support on Steam:

His older games are still available for Mac on GOG but I can't guarantee they work on latest versions of MacOS:

Which is unfortunate, because the Geneforge saga is still some of his best work. I got a Mac to get away from Microsofts draconian update policies, but it turns out Apple is just as bad, just from a different direction.
