Eiyu*Senki - The World Conquest

Is it Rock,Paper,Scissors?
Is there a system like that in this game? I'm still new to it and it seems similar to Fire Emblem, which has the rock, paper, scissors type of thing.

It's a bit more like the messy triangles of Fate/Grand Order, if anything - certain weapon types deal more damage to other weapon types. E.g. Gun units (like Nobunaga) deal bonus damage to most close-range units, like Melee (like Marco Polo) and Sword (like Yamato Takeru). It's not a one-one comparison, though, since most weapon types are effective against multiple attack types. Magic and Bow have it the worst; Magic has literally no offensive bonuses and is weak defensively to everything, while Bow's only offensive bonus is against Magic and are weak defensively to all red and green weapons.

The downside is that the Brave orbs you use for your special attacks don't go to you if you go for the bonus damage; they'll go to your enemy instead. So sometimes it's better to go for less damage in exchange for eating less damage from a powerful attack shorly after.

Hmm. Thanks. Some of it does sound a bit like Fire Emblem, like swords were good against spears, axes were good against swords, and spears were good against axes. But this does sound a bit more messy. Thanks for the info though! Helped me understand the combat a bit more.

It certainly is more messy. There are actually attack types that to more damage to each other, so both get the bonus. The attack types also have their typical ranges: Gun types usually fire in a straight line so you have to position them, cannon types have a minimum range and some types can only attack the row directly in front of them. It's less of a RPS and more of a complete (yet quite unbalanced) system of tactical choices. Which doesn't change the fact that is serves its purpose, so don't let it scare you away.

You can also read the manual which has a table for which attack type is effective against which other type. Either that, or I found it online in some walkthrough :)

Library -> right click on game -> directly below "start game"

Alternatively: Somewhere in the install folder :)
