player count in 2021?

interested, but $30 for a battle royale on the current market seems unbelievably expensive

would I at least be able to find games reasonably quick, or is the player count too low?

Player count is alright as I just bought it myself at least in the custom games. However it was like 5 kids for every adult so I am not keeping it, back to pavlov

Player count is good, I pulled some stats off the API before season 2 and it was something like 60,000 players for that particular week. It's likely even more now.

Matchmaking is quite fast, though some quiet times of the day you might end up waiting a minute or two for a full lobby.
The stats look low because 99% of the player base is on the Quest 2 and not playing through steam. Looks low if you check it out on Steam stats.


For what @TehGuard said above, there are a bunch of kids on there, but id say its about 50/50 adults to kids from what I found.

In the end you just squad up with people you enjoy playing with, so it doesn't matter too much about the kids.

I'd recommend the game personally, its the most fun I've had in VR. That's just my opinion though.

This doesn't account for Oculus Store users. That is where an overwhelming majority of players likely are.

I don't usually find myself waiting long for a game to start, and they just upped the player count per match. It's true that there's a lot of kids on, but it's so easy to squad up with new people I had a good run with so that isn't usually much of a problem.
