With 18 players per match, I would be running into the same players and or waiting long periods of time if the population was that low. I have a fairly populated Pop1 friends list (the one in game that is cross platform) that constantly has everyone in different games and squads. I also don't have to wait very long at all for matches nor see the same players. Cross platform is doing good work here, but it also means Steam is a very small slice of the pie.
Almost every single player who tells me which VR set they're using is an Oculus.
Do some people ENJOY doomsaying good games? I could almost see you lick your lips at the thought of a game going under.
Most players will be on Quest and not Steam so Steam numbers won't be accurate. That being said, it's not like Facebook is going to tell so how many players they have is a total guess as well as when people find a new game, this will drop like a boulder.
vrlfg only reports SteamVR players chief. It doesn't show Quests players and there's thousands of players playing this game on that, and crossplay between Quest and SteamVR is totally seamless
