But the worst puzzle is still the witch from amadeus nightmare especially with 4 amadeus trying to solve it at the same time.
Now I dont know if I want to get the dlc.
I didnt enjoy the light/mirror puzzles in Trine 4, and my buddy actually quit the game because of them (and he loves rpg's and puzzles in games), and I am terrible at puzzles (but Trine 1 and 2 I did very well in) and Trine 4's mirror/light puzzles I had to look up online how to do more than a few of.
Dang, I was looking forward to the dlc too. Now I probably wont get it unless it is at a really really low price.
Go back to Trine 2's way, maybe make a 'continuation' of Trine 2? That was my favorite, with the snail, and the water puzzles. Trine 4's puzzles were too complicated, on top of having a LOT of new skills just made it not everyones favorite, even though it was awesome in some area's.
Trine 4 felt more like Croteam's The Talos Principle to me. IE: A puzzle game. Instead of a side scroller platformer. It kinda made me feel stupid, like the Talos did, having to go to yutobe to do most of the puzzles.
I know you guys want to add to the series every game, but it kinda feels like you are getting TOO far from the platformer sidescroller that we all fell in love with. And we know you want to do different things, but maybe reign it in a little and go back to what worked well, and maybe not so much RPG and hard Puzzles???
You guys and gals know I love ya, and love Trine, and want to support you no matter what, but its kinda getting away from ya, ya know?
Ok i get that Trine 4's puzzles are the hardest in the series but come on it's nowhere near Talos. Also the hardest puzzles are all optionnal (as they should be).
I only had to look up one puzzle in this game but then again i quite like puzzle games. The puzzles in previous games were far too easy for me.
When making a puzzle-platformer it's tough to balance the two aspects of it and make everyone happy. Maybe make separate difficulty settings for puzzles and combat somehow ?
Not that bad. I've enjoyed most part of it. But "blocking the all lights" and "carry the electricty to machine" puzzles was so tedious for me. Especially the last ones.
Thank you very much. It's good to know that you are reading feedbacks. Good luck with your next games :)
Still, I agree it wasn't fun. The puzzles really don't need to be so broadly convoluted and the introduction of "switch your character real fast so you can emulate using multiple characters at the same time while solo" for the first time in the main series is a step too far for me. I think the DLC was meant an answer to players who wanted more advanced content, but I would have been happy with just more.
I much prefer the Pontius nightmare boss.
