It's intentional, probably to give more accessibility to controller players, just like Trine 3. Zoya also needs specific hook points now, unlike any wooden surface in Trine 1 and 2.
But seriously, what bull**** developmant decision is this? So the controls got intentionally hampered and streamlined? Just great. This could at least be changeable in the options. It's not like we have many Trine championships and competitive events where this would make a difference. It just annoys PC players, that's all.
I didn't played any Trine game using a controller, but some people say that was "clunky" to draw objects with it.
I've played 4 levels of Trine 4 so far and I'm fine with this change, because at least I can walk while drawing or levitating this time. What is getting me is that I fast draw a circle and the box doesn't appear as in the old games, I need to get used to drawing a "V" or an "L" mid-battle now.
This change was actually made in Trine 3, and it does have a benefit, as the puzzles are now far less cheesable. You need to actually solve them instead of brute-forcing your way through with stacked boxes :P
The hanging bridge that you're supposed to levitate over the chasm and attach to the sticky snow on the other side is missing the grabbable metal end with the cogs. Because of that, Amadeus isn't able to grab it and levitate it across.
Not sure when this issue's crept up, as today was the first time I replayed that tutorial level after about a year. Is it a bug or is it that, because it's the new Hard difficulty, it's actually supposed to be this way to make the puzzle harder? I find the latter unlikely since it's only the first tutorial bit and Hard mode is only supposed to make combat and resurrecting more difficult, while not affecting the puzzles.
That sounds weird, the Hard difficulty shouldn't impact the puzzles in any way. Was the metal part just missing altogether? It should normally just look like this, with the metal part turning blue when you hover your cursor over it:

I tested this just now in a new Hard difficulty save and it's letting me levitate the bridge normally, so sounds like something might have bugged out with the game's local files. Try verifying the game cache by right clicking Trine 4 and going to Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. Let us know if this doesn't fix it.
If you're still stick, you can work around it for now by using a box to cross the gap. Levitate the box in the middle, jump on it and jump quickly across before it falls.
Below is the error message I received

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and updating the graphics card driver, but nothing worked.
I am a laptop, the graphics card is NVIDIA1050M, and the CPU is I7-7700HQ
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble, this is indeed curious! I checked our archives and it does not seem we have encountered this for Windows 10 before. Are you encountering audio cutoffs with other media?
Just in case, I would recommend checking out this page I found about fixing audio cut-off issues:
{LINK REMOVED}https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/sound-keeps-cutting-out-on-windows-10-solved/
I would especially recommend checking that you've got sound effects off. Let me know if this helops!
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with launching the game! If I understand correctly that this started happening only after adjusting the graphics settings, try if you can get the game running after deleting the settings manually.
You can do this by navigating to %appdata%/Trine4 and deleting options.txt file.
If this does not work, is there a chance you've disabled pagefile.sys (see e.g. How-To Geek's article for more information: {LINK REMOVED}https://www.howtogeek.com/126430/htg-explains-what-is-the-windows-page-file-and-should-you-disable-it/)? Try enabling pagefile.sys again or increasing its size and see if that helps.
Let me know if you get the game working!

If I ignore the error popup I can still load the main menu and play single player. However when I try to join any multiplayer game the game crashes. Note: This crashes in both the regular build and the multiplayer beta. I have also tried to change the option to setOption(networkModule, "PreferCustomP2PChannels2", true) and it's still crashing.
